The Guardian Long Range activates the precision shooting community to become changemakers in child welfare. We see where the precision rifle community is a force for good in the child welfare system. We serve as a resource hub—encouraging, informing, and activating individuals who want to help children in need. Whether through funding, volunteering, mentorship, or foster care, we help people move from awareness to action.
● Built by Experience: Founded by a former foster child who wanted to give back—and bring others with him.
● Two Worlds, One Mission: We bridge the gap between shooters and the child welfare system. One has resources and heart. The other needs both.
● Not About Growing the Sport: We’re not here to grow the shooting community. We’re here to activate it for our mission.
● Masculine Energy, Real Impact: Precision rifle matches reach men—the very audience often missing from child welfare conversations.
● Easy Onramps: Most folks can’t foster—but they can serve, support, and show up. We guide them.
Guardian Long Range has been making an impact in the lives of vulnerable youth for over 11 years.
● Hosting 4–6 annual Guardian Matches with a custom format to raise funds, awareness, and involvement. Cash and gift-in-kind donations come from individuals, other shooting based organizations, industry partners, and clubs.
● Supporting other matches across the country—non-Guardian events that benefit Guardian through proceeds and awareness.
● Donating $127K in 2024 and 2025, with over $34K at non-Guardian events.
● Over $1M raised to date to support vetted beneficiaries across the U.S.
● Introducing over 2000 attendees to ways they can help at events during the past two years.
● Coordinating directly with local beneficiaries to support real needs—both financially and relationally.
I entered the foster care system at 12 years old after a childhood of abuse and neglect.
My teenage years were filled with bad decisions resulting in failed placements. The turning point in my life was undoubtedly the fortunate assignment to a caseworker who took the time to get to know me. At 17 years old, my caseworker recognized the challenges I faced and worked hard to find my forever family.
When he realized that I was basically homeless, he made the unconventional decision to bring me into his home.
Defend the weak and fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed.
While competitive, our events are designed to promote fellowship on the range, invite participants of all skill levels, and ultimately provide a new level of spiritual fulfillment in a challenging, but fun match environment. Event proceeds raised by shooters go to fund programs like the one that changed my life. My calling and purpose for Guardian Long Range is best summarized by our mission in Psalm 82:3.
